Urban Health Plan opens Adolescent Health and Wellness Center - First of its kind in the South Bronx
The South Bronx has its share of medical and health challenges, especially among its teen population. High rates of poverty and risky sexual activity leave many South Bronx teens vulnerable to unintended pregnancies and births, sexually transmitted infections and other health issues.
Teens now have access to affordable, confidential health care with the opening of a new adolescent health center, the first of its kind in the South Bronx. The new Adolescent Health and Wellness Center, a division of Urban Health Plan (UHP) opened on Monday, April 30th at 960 Southern Boulevard.
UHP Goes Red for Wear Red Day
UHP was a sea of red in celebration of Wear Red Day on February 3. This is Heart Awareness Month -- dedicated to raising awareness about heart disease and increasing knowledge about how to prevent it.
